My table set up at the craft fair last Sunday. I had to move later when the sun came over but it was quite a successful day - sold enough to make it worthwhile and with pleasant surroundings, music, and a nice lunch, I was happy.

The next day we went down to Denmark on the south coast of WA. for a few days. My mother spent a lot of time there as a child - holidays on the family farm and she also lived there, as a child and young adult - it's her special place and she wanted to see it again while it was still possible so we took her there for a short holiday. The weather was perfect - sunny and warm but not too hot, as it was in Perth while we were away. We enjoyed looking around the town and beautiful surroundings.

Our cottage overlooked Wilsons Inlet - these photos are all taken there.

Printing greens

Green is a not a colour I use a lot but after a couple of printing sessions, I seem to be accumulating a collection - maybe a future quilt. The above fabrics are mainly thermofax printed with Permaset and some discharge (deColourant).

book covers and more

I finished these yesterday, they are for the Craft fair at Mia Flora Garden Centre and cafĂ©, Brookton Highway, Roleystone on Sunday 27th October.

I tried my new stencil in my sketchbook and on fabric - quite pleased with it.

Below: a new thermofax screen made from a photo of fallen leaves from our perssimon tree.

The print below is the screen repeat printed 8 times. It matches up quite well so you can't easily see the joins. They are printed on old scrap calico so I may over dye them later.

Another thermofax print.
I have also done a new post on the Designing Women blog - click here to see what we've been doing.

sketchbook pages, monoprinting

When I have some leftover paint, I like to add some colour and pattern to my sketchbook.

The last 2 pics above are a monoprinting technique featured on Design Matters TV as 1 of their free tasters. I was familiar with the technique but had forgotten about it. They give a very good demo and its a simple, effective method - great on fabric too - see below.

I had a piece of X ray film spare so decided to cut a quick stencil.

I've been playing with photo editing on my iPad with mixed success. Some of the apps are fun but the results are not detailed enough to use anywhere else. I'm sure I've used some in the past but now I can't seem to be able to get a full sized image.
Its a nice spring day today so I shouldn't be fiddling about on the computer! That's it - I'm off.
