Sculpture by the Sea 2011

A few pics from this years Sculpture by the Sea now on at Cottesloe Beach. I'm sorry I don't know artists' names - we didn't buy a catalogue when we went yesterday but it's a great show as always and on for a while yet.

I think these are my favourites. Made from recycled plastic bags, they remind me of elaborate decorated cakes.

I'm still working on my thermofax page - hope to get it done soon but a few things have delayed it. I've decided that the giveaway will be a small screen with one of my designs with maybe, a little something extra. You'll get a choice from a few designs so stay tuned!

I'm doing a demo on discharging with deColourant for Designing Women on Saturday in between looking after DH who is having knee relacement surgery so lots happening at the moment. But it looks like my workshop: Bizarre Beads for the Embroiderers Guild may be cancelled due to not enough participants which is a pity but may be for the best.

I love the plastic bag sculptures - I imagine they'd move in the breeze slightly too. Amazing to think it's warm and sunny too, sunny here but still very cold!

That does look like a fun show. Take care of yourself as well as your husband.

Great photos of the sculptures- saw the shoes here in Queensland at the Swell Sculpture Festival!
I'm interested in the thermofax service so waiting for details. Hope all goes well for hubby.

Good luck with it all - show us your bizarre beads when you have a split second!

I like the spiral best.

We hope to get to see this exhibition, and your picures are indeed an incentive. Hope all goes well for your husband's surgery.

How about that pitcher with legs. What an imagination.

Such fun sculpture. The plastic bag sculptures remind me of sea urchins. Do you know what the spiral made from?

The sculptures by the sea look great as usual. Actually the sea and the beach look great too! Wish I was there now, it`s a bit stressful being here and watching the news non-stop about the disaster...
