Free motion couching foot

My new foot in action. It does the job OK but was not entirely what I was hoping for. I would have liked to be able to use some different stitches but you can only use straight stitch. The main problem I have is that sometimes the stitch misses the yarn altogether when it curves which means there are loose sections.
The thread guide doesn't come with the foot, I already had one but the package did include another foot with a bigger hole for fatter yarns, a threader, some yarn, thread guides for the back of the machine, and a CD with a digitised design. I think the design of the foot is so it's suitable for in the hoop, digitised designs which is not really what I wanted it for.
Hopefully I'll get better at it with more practice.

Thanks for sharing a photo of the foot. It looks a bit different than the one I have for my Bernina, but it sounds like the issues you are experiencing are exactly the same as mine.

Sounds like a bummer Linda--what machine do you have?

I always get many of the machine feet too. This one would be better if you could use pattern stitches.
